About us

The Greek branch of the Young Hydrologic Society (YHS) was founded in 2024 by a group of passionate young hydrologists. Our founders saw the need for a platform to connect and support young professionals in the field of hydrology in Greece. Therefore, we give particular focus on professional development and social interaction  for student and early career scientists, within the broader water and geosciences community.

Our goal is to advocate for the interests of young hydrologists in Greece to ensure communication of their views, research findings and experiences in national discussions and debates on hydrological matters, water related national initiatives, and research projects. This is an essential step towards increasing our influence, through synergistic collaborative opportunities and international networking.

A major objective of our branch is to create and maintain a platform, via which early-career hydrologists from Greece can thrive and contribute to research, and/or other water related initiatives of national and international importance. Since the Greek Branch of YHS serves as a vital link between young Greek hydrologists and the broader scientific community, we give particular focus on professional development and social interaction.
